Kyle Ramsay brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the Durham Mustangs. A former OHL draft pick of the Erie Otters, he captained the Pickering Panthers and played professionally in Germany. Now a scout for the Blind River Beavers (NOJHL), Kyle focuses on skill development, teamwork, and creating a fun, high-energy environment for players to thrive.
Kyle Ramsey brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Durham Mustangs. His playing career began in the GTHL and Pickering Minor Hockey Association before advancing to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders in his OHL draft year. In 2005, he was selected in the 12th round by the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League draft. He went on to play in the OJHL for the Ajax Attack, Peterborough Stars, and captained the Pickering Panthers, while also spending parts of two seasons with the Erie Otters. Following his junior career, he continued his playing journey overseas for a season in Germany.
Transitioning into coaching and player development,Kyle has worked with teams in the Brighton Minor Hockey Association, Stouffville Minor Hockey Association, and Orono Minor Hockey Association, as well as coaching on ice development with Perfect Skating durham. He is currently a scout for the Blind River Beavers of the NOJHL.
His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, fostering a fun, energetic, and motivational team culture.
Kyle is excited to lead the 2020/2021 team and looks forward to helping young athletes develop their skills while growing their love for the game.
