Congratulations to our defending Champions the Durham Mustangs 2013 Spring Team. Who demonstrated a talented performance at the Riot Cup hockey tournament in Ottawa this past weekend. The tournament was a thrilling showcase of talent, featuring close games and fierce competition from start to finish. Lead by Coach Kyle Allard and his coaching team, they proved to be the driving force behind the bench.
The Durham Mustangs got off to a strong start in the round-robin stage, winning their first three games decisively. However, they faced a setback in game four against the Ottawa Whalers, suffering a 4-1 loss. Undeterred, the team rallied in the semi-finals, delivering an electrifying performance to secure a 6-3 victory and advance to the finals.
In the championship match against the Whalers, the Durham Mustangs were determined to prove themselves after their earlier defeat. They came out with unmatched intensity, dominating the game from start to finish and clinching a resounding 4-0 victory. Special recognition goes to goalie Isaac Chung for his outstanding shutout performance in the finals.
Behind the scenes, the coaching staff played a pivotal role in the team's success. Led by Head Coach Kyle Allard, along with the support of an incredible coaching team that included an older brother on the door and a dedicated father, the Durham Mustangs displayed exemplary teamwork and determination throughout the tournament.
