Gary Taylor

I have played hockey all his life, I grew up playing in the Whitby Minor Hockey Association. I have extended my love for hockey and lacrosse into coaching all ages and all levels for 20+ years. I am a certified Hockey Canada Development 1 Coach as well as a trained Community Development Men’s Field and box Lacrosse Coach. My coaching experience includes O.C.H.L, Clarington Toros and Clarington Gaels with Lacrosse. My involvement has taken me from on ice helper, trainer, Assistant Coach to Head Coach. I have also been involved in many different coaching capacities with many travel Elite Hockey teams over the past 20 years. I have two boys who grew up playing competitive sports and know firsthand the demands and expectations that is put on families and players. The one thing I teach, and value is respect for the game, the opponent, the referees, the Coaches and most importantly your teammates. I emphasize while we might not be the most skilled, the biggest we will be the hardest working team and bring a great attitude even if it’s not going well, never give up attitude. Lastly, there will be a strong focus on developing a fun, positive and inclusive team culture where hard work and focus on ice/off ice activities area valued.×
