Durham Mustangs Appoint Kyle Ramsay as Head Coach of the 2020 Tier 1 Red Team for the 2026–27 KSL Season
The Durham Mustangs are proud to announce Kyle Ramsay as Head Coach of the 2020 Tier 1 Red Team for the 2026–27 KSL season. Ramsay brings extensive playing and coaching experience and has coached the Durham Mustangs Development Group this season. He looks forward to continuing the growth of Mustangs athletes as they transition into the KSL league.
The Durham Mustangs are pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Ramsay as Head Coach of the 2020 Tier 1 Red Team for the upcoming 2026–27 KSL season.
Ramsay brings a wealth of experience from both his playing and coaching career. He began his hockey journey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) and with the Pickering Minor Hockey Association before advancing to the Ajax–Pickering Raiders in his Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft year. In 2005, Ramsay was selected in the 12th round of the OHL Draft by the Erie Otters. His junior career included time with the Ajax Attack and Peterborough Stars in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), where he also served as captain of the Pickering Panthers, along with appearances over two seasons with the Erie Otters. Following his junior career, Ramsay continued to play professionally overseas for one season in Germany.
After transitioning into coaching and player development, Ramsay has worked with several organizations, including Brighton Minor Hockey Association, Stouffville Minor Hockey Association, and Orono Minor Hockey Association. He has also contributed to on-ice skill development through Perfect Skating Durham. Currently, Ramsay serves as a scout for the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).
Ramsay’s coaching philosophy focuses on skill development while fostering a positive, energetic, and motivating team environment. He is passionate about helping young athletes reach their potential both on and off the ice.
Kyle Ramsay is excited to take on this new role and looks forward to leading the 2020 Tier 1 Red Team, supporting player growth, and continuing to build a strong Mustangs program.
