2017 Mustangs Capture Division Championship at the Salute to Service KSL tournament!
The 2017s battled hard to take home the championship title in their devision this past weekend. Finishing with 5 wins and a tie. We allowed just 10 goals in 6 games—the fewest of any team—while also leading the tournament in penalty minutes.
Our commitment to team defense was a major factor in our success, and every player stepped up with positive contributions at key moments throughout the weekend.

The 2017 Durham Mustangs delivered an outstanding performance this past weekend, battling hard to capture the championship title in their division. The team posted an impressive record of five wins and one tie, showing consistency, resilience, and teamwork throughout the tournament.
One of the most remarkable highlights of the weekend was the Mustangs’ defensive play. The team allowed just 10 goals across six games, the fewest of any team in the division, showcasing their strong structure, discipline, and commitment to supporting their goaltenders. In true Mustangs fashion, they also managed to lead the tournament in penalty minutes, proving that toughness and competitiveness remain core parts of their identity.

Every player stepped up at key moments, making positive contributions in all areas of the game—from timely goals and smart puck movement to blocked shots and relentless backchecking.
